In Thailand we enjoying summer weather all year around, with maybe a few colder days, your hair could be suffering the effects of all that sun, surf, dirt and sand, leaving your crowning glory looking less than lovely. Heat, salt and chlorinated water, UV rays and humidity can cause the cuticle of the hair shaft to open, leaving it vulnerable to dehydration, color loss and brittleness. And if your hair is naturally porous and dry to begin with, frizz-prone locks could be casing you to tear your hair out.If your hair is over-porous, which can quickly happen in summer weather all year around, it becomes frizzy. Naturally curly hair is like this to begin with - the cuticle is open, so it needs re-hydrating. If straight or wavy hair has been heavily highlighted, frizz can quickly result, but even simple exposure to summer's harsh elements can encourage dreaded frizz.
All is not lost, however. You can enjoy shiny, frizz-free hair by using shampoo, conditioner and styling products formulated with heat and / or UV protection that will give styling benefits, as well as nurture and defend.
The Aim: You're looking for body and control in hair that can otherwise be limp and prone to frizz.
Buy a good shampoo and condition with volumising products. For the hair, apply a volumising tonic to further build body. For thicker hair, apply a smoothing serum. Bend over and let your hair fall forward. While brushing hair forward, blow-dry hair focusing air on the root area to build lift. Once your hair is dry, iron it straight from mid-length to ends. For extra height, you may want to pop a few rollers into the crown and then use a hairspray.
