To improve your English reading skills, make a habit of reading regularly. Read as many as possible English books. A small selection of books for April are Bitter Chocolate by Lesley lokko, and The Witch's Trinity by Erika Mailman.
Bitter Chocolate by Leskey Lokko
A bold, brassy blockbuster that will have you hooked days this month. Set in steamy Haiti, neon-lit Los Angeles and cosmopolitan London, it's about three woman searching for love and a sense of belonging. Laure, too, decides she must flee home and she sets out for Chicago to start a new life with her estranged mother. Alongside the glitz and the glamor, observations about celebrity, inter-racial relationships and the folly of relying on a man to define your place in the world lend the book class and depth.

The Witch's Trinity by Erika Mailman
When author Erika Mailman discovered that one of her ancestors had stood trial for witchcraft, she was inspired to write this gripping novel set in 16th century Germany – a time when people believed in supernatural causes for their misfortunes. This vivid tale is told from the perspective of an elderly woman called Güde who is blamed for her village's famine.One neighbor says his hen stopped laying eggs after Güde sat on a rock near their door. Another says she caused her unborn child to die. In more benign times, these accusations might have passed simple for malicious gossip, but the country is in the grip of witch-hunt hysteria, and when cruel friar arrives to conduct an inquisition.
