Eyeliner - Draw the Line

CosmeticsConsider the almighty eyeliner. Not only does it make your eyes stand out and look more defined, but it's been the makeup staple of royalty through the ages (both the Egyptian and rock star varieties) – so maybe that's why we associate it with nobility and sexy edginess. And sometimes it's the only thing you need. I once knew a girl who never wore a stitch of makeup except for a smudge of eyeliner, and it looked so hot.

Having plowed through lots of liner myself over the years. I know there's a perfect product for everyone and tons of ways to rock it.

For Almond Shaped Eyes.

You can pull off just any look but if you want to simply complement our God-given shape, draw along the top and bottom lash lines, keeping it not too thick and not too thin, and connect the lines at the outer corner.

For Small/Narrow Eyes

To keep eyes from disappearing, began a strong line at the inner corner where your lashes start and move outward. Then smudge a very soft line along the bottom to give 'em some pop without being overwhelming. And never line the bottom inner rim – it will only make your eyes look smaller.

For Asian Eyes

Line the top, keeping it pretty thick (you may need to experiment with density). Then, following the natural curve of your lash line, extend just past the outer corner.

For Close Set Eyes

Open up you face and create a wide-eyed look by drawing a line at the inner corner where the lashes start and moving outward. Draw the bottom lash line in the same manner, keeping it soft, and then connect the two lines at the outer corner.

For Round Eyes

You rounders can get away with intense eyes makeup, so line the upper inner rim from corner to corner. Then draw all around the lash lines, going for definition. For a more advanced technique, draw the upper line thick, then thin, then thick again as you move out. This will give your eyes an exotic look.

For Hooded Eyes

Line outward but stop where the bottom lash line meets the top. Use a light powder along the bottom lash line and don't extend past the top line.
