Handy Herbs To Beautify The Skin

HealthWomen and beauty are bosom friends. At their prime, our grandmothers knew how to enhance their beauty at a time when body lotions and cosmetics (so familiar today) were non-existent. Easily available herbs were adapted, accordingly, for different parts of the body.

Although the present approach to health care has changed, what remains resolutely unchanged are the natural ingredients use in the production of today's cosmetics. Given the increasingly popular research on herbs, people have become more interested. Today, familiar, unprocessed herbs are used to care for the skin.

Coconut
A single fruit that is particularly rich in protein and fats, especially its inner flesh, which holds a high fat content, is widely used as a homemade skincare lotion. To make some, mix coconut extract from ripe coconuts with sufficient water and reduce the mixture to a thick solution on the stove. Then, remove the solution from the cooking ring and leave to cool. Only the filtered liquid is applied to the skin, or can be used to soak or coat hair to give it black, glowing sheen and wavy effect. Otherwise, simmer until the water and coconut extract are well blended; the resulting wax can be applied to the lips to help moisture them or for use as lip-gloss. Coconut oil or wax will help moisture the lips.

Aloe vera
Another herb that effectively helps relieve heat is also used as an important ingredient in cosmetics. The jelly part of aloe vera, which is secured once the thick outer leaf is peeled, provides a disinfectant property that helps stop bleeding and pain while healing burns and preventing scars from developing. These properties give aloe vera and edge as an ingredient for cosmetics for hair and skincare as it strengthens the roots of hair and prevents thinning, while keeping the hair shiny black. The rind provides aloin and other essences that have properties to prevent the growth of tyrosinase enzyme beneath the skin; the root case of dark spots on the skin and freckles.

Cucumber
As a fresh vegetable, is rich in vitamins and other nutritional values used in effective skincare products. It can serve as the base for cucumber juice for skin applications or facial cream. Consuming fresh cucumber helps moisture the skin, thanks to its erepsin enzyme, which digests protein; even that beneath the skin. Accordingly, aged cells can be eradicated quickly. Moreover, the high level of amino acid in cucumber is also used as an ingredient in several skincare products. It is common knowledge, where skincare is concerned, that thin rings of freshly sliced cucumber, which have been chilled briefly, can be placed over the skin or eyelids; the vitamin C in cucumber refreshes the skin and helps relax muscles around the eyes. Juice, filtered from pounded cucumber, can be applied over the body to refresh and clean the body while preventing it from becomes flaky.
