Limit 'worrying' time. If you are worried about a problem, set aside time for you to worry about it. If you can't think of solution, don't beat yourself up about it, save that for next time.
Rethink your thoughts. When you're worried, you're more likely to think of what 'could' happen. Remind yourself of previous times when you felt this way and how different the result was. Think of the best possible scenario rather than the worst one.
Be kind to yourself. Give yourself the same advice you would give to your best friend. Being over-critical will only make you feel worse and won't help your situation.
Do what makes you happy, what makes your friends and family happy may not have the same effect on you. Find your own happiness and discover with works for you:
discuss with friends what makes them happy, and then contribute your own thoughts, this will help you find what could or does work for you.
Have a flick though some books or magazines for inspiration. Words or pictures that make you look twice will reflect what inspires you and makes you happy.
Jot down the first thoughts that come to mind when you think of being happy and reflect back to them whenever you need to.
