My husband says he's not ready for children. How do I soften him up to the idea of becoming a dad?

Men are nothing like butter. You could spend years warming your hubby up to the idea and he still wouldn't feel prepared. Even if he did, parenthood is as predictable as a accident. But don't tell him that. Instead, appeal to his logic.
According to some research, after age 35 it takes longer to get pregnant, there's a 15 percent greater chance of miscarriage, odds of Down syndrome jump by more than half, and you have a higher risk of gestational diabetes. It's not you pressuring him; it's Mother Nature......

Nice, freak the guy out with shock-therapy stats. Truth is, he's already scared. Scared of 3am vomiting, losing his already-irregular golf games, and taking a backseat more often than high school sweethearts. He has to buck up and respect what you want, but tell him this “Yes, it'll be hard. Yes, your relationship will change. But no, starting a new life doesn't mean the end”
