Cocktail hour is upon us

NightlifeCocktail hour at many Asian bars used to be sleepy affairs where businessmen would unwind at the end of the day. Not anymore. The advent of a cocktail culture among young, style-conscious Asians has led to the launch of hip, airy lounges in cities around the region. Hotel bars are now happening venues, attracting not only travelers but adventurous locals eager to try cocktails like the starfruit martini and vodka apple caviar.

Housed in a cylindrical structure, Bangkok's happening Bed Supperclub features a space-age, all-white interior. Downstairs, low-slung chairs and divan beds welcome diners, while a separate mezzanine bar overlooks the dance floor.

The Good Ways To Be Hangover-Free (1 to 3 tips)

NightlifeThe 1st, thing to do is eat a wholegrain chicken sandwich before you go out. It is a good source of B vitamins and stabilizes blood-sugar levels. Never drink on an empty stomach. The only thing that minimizes the effect of alcohol is to take it with food.

Carbohydrates are most efficient at slowing down absorption of alcohol, so you get a pleasurable sense of well being, instead of feeling drunk. And, beware carbonated drinks, such as champagne or gin and tonic, are absorbed quicker, making you drinker, faster.

The 2nd, thing is to join the boys for a beer. But don't try to drink them under the table. The female body has a higher ratio of fat to water, and your liver contains a 25 per cent lower level of the enzyme that breaks down alcohol than men's. Drinking lager makes sense, because it contains more liquid per unit of alcohol than wine, so it has less of an intoxicating effect. In the same way, wine will get you less drunk than spirits.

Unforgettable Dance Performance Compania Manuel Segovia

NightlifeThe tempos of De Tierras Mojadas, from the Wetlands, uniquely represent the competence and original Spanish dance that is characterized by its creative vigor. Combined with the powerful musical imagination, the performance was a translation of the work by Manuel Berroso Saves (Manuel Segovia), founder of the Compania Manuel Segovia, through and original dance, flamenco, modern dance and the musical movements that help fulfill its role both in the interpretation of the composition and the delightful rhythms of their own creativity.

Such combination turned to one of the most powerful alternatives for a resulting flamenco dance. Vernacular and classical, De Tierras Mojadas greeted the audience with Show One in the land of the sun and the moon before it was followed by Salamancan music in the performance entitled Amanecida, an original performance accompanied by such quick tempos as Pasacalles and Caminito de Pamplona or the Road to Pamplona, another performance.
